North West businessman Suliman Carrim will remain behind bars this weekend, as his bail application has been postponed till Monday.
He says his trip to Dubai was for Umrah and spiritual alignment.
Carrim says the spiritual upliftment is a practice he has followed for more than a decade.
This after the Madlanga Commission’s Recommendations Task Team told the court Carrim is a runaway witness whose passport had been flagged to prevent him from leaving the country.
The Task Team member said Carrim only had a one-way ticket when he attempted to travel.
