National Coloured Congress leader, Fadiel Adams is facing animal cruelty charges.
This after an African Grey parrot was confiscated from his property in 2024.
According to the SPCA, inspectors found the bird suffering from severe feather loss.
They allege Adams even threatened its inspectors, and denied them access to the property.
The animal welfare organisation then obtained a court order, and removed the bird.
Adams appeared in the Mitchells Plain Magistrates’ Court last Thursday for this matter, and is due back for plea and trial next month.
