The long-awaited murder trial of rapper Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes and celebrity chef Tebello ‘Tibz’ Motsoane is officially underway at the Durban High Court.
Seven men are expected to stand trial for the shootings that occurred on Florida Road about three years ago.
The group face 19 collective charges including murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and firearms- and ammunition-related offences.
The initial block for the trial is set to run through November 6, 2026, with further court dates and scheduling to be determined. All accused remain in custody
Despite delays caused by the extradition of suspects from Eswatini, the state is ready to roll out its case.
At least 45 witnesses will reportedly take the stand during the initial session, which runs until November 6th. With proceedings set to pause on November 4th for the Local Government Elections.
