Guateng police have launched a massive manhunt for a local pastor, following the reported rape of a 43-year-old mother.

He is also wanted in connection with the tragic murder of her four-month-old baby.

The incident occurred near the Hennops River, along the R511 outside Diepsloot.

According to authorities, the victim had accompanied the pastor and his wife to the river to perform a ritual.

While the pastor’s wife remained behind to care for the infant, the victim proceeded further toward the riverbank with the suspect.

It is alleged that the woman was subsequently assaulted, raped, and tied up by the pastor.

She managed to free herself and sought emergency assistance at a nearby construction site, where private security and police were immediately alerted.

Pastor’s Wife Arrested as Baby’s Body is Discovered

While the perpetrator remains at large, police confirmed that his wife has already been arrested in connection with the horrific crimes.

The Gauteng government has condemned the attacks. Provincial government spokesperson Elijah Mhlanga is urging the authorities to find the suspect:

Following an intense search of the surrounding areas, provincial police spokesperson Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi confirmed a devastating outcome: the four-month-old baby was discovered deceased, buried in a shallow grave and covered with leaves near a river in Atteridgeville.

Law enforcement officials have officially opened cases of kidnapping, rape, and murder.

As the investigation continues, authorities are urgently appealing to members of the public to come forward with any information that could lead to the immediate arrest of the fleeing pastor.
