News24 Editor-in-Chief Adriaan Basson says the publication holds Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma directly responsible for their journalist receiving death threats.
Basson says they will hold her responsible and not leave a stone unturned to make sure the rule of law is upheld, adding that she is not above the law.
He says they have written to Ngobese-Zuma regarding the matter and have put security measures in place to protect their journalist Khaya Koko, who was merely doing his job….
We have put in place security measures to protect our journalist Khaya Koko….Obviously we take these death threats very seriously.
He’s received the most vile and obscene threats by people for doing his job as a journalist…
We will not take this lightly, we protect him, we stand behind him and we fully back his rights and his freedom as a journalist to operate in this country…irresepective of who he investigates.
