UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has delivered what is expected to be his final address to the United Nations General Assembly before his term ends in December.
Guterres received a standing ovation after telling world leaders that his commitment to peace, human rights and international law will continue after he leaves office.
He also used the speech to warn about the climate crisis, the rollback of women’s rights and what he called escalating violence and settlement expansion by Israel in the occupied West Bank.
