Questions have been raised whether or not Dismissed Crime Intelligence Deputy Head Feroz Khan will delivery his testimony at the Madlanga Commission.
He was expected to appear before the Commission behind closed doors, in-camera today. This was to protect sensitive investigations and confidential police informants.
The uncertainty was raised after Gauteng police confirmed a fatal shooting on the R21 highway near OR Tambo International Airport last night.
Unconfirmed reports identified the deceased victim as Preggy Padayachee, who is the uncle-in-law of Feroz Khan.
Police spokesperson Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi says the incident began when a Fiat driver broke down on the side of the road and called a friend for assistance….
Khan’s testimony before the Commission has been delayed several times before due to:
- ongoing health issues
- legal disputes
- a shooting incident in which he was wounded in June.
Khan faces serious corruption allegations, with WhatsApp evidence linking him to police tender manipulation and the abuse of law-enforcement resources.
