The Electoral Commission,has officially launched its National Results Operations Centre at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand today.
The centre will serve as the primary hub for auditing, collating, verifying and announcing results for the Local Government Elections set for the 4th of November 2026.
Speaking at the launch, IEC Chief Electoral Officer Sy Mamabolo outlined how the election dashboard will work, saying the system is designed to promote transparency.
The launch comes with huge screens to show live voter turnout, election progress and verified results in real time, allowing political parties, observers and the media to track performance and raise objections.
Mamabolo says the commission is ready for the sixth local government elections since democracy, noting the country’s shift towards coalition governance.
